i have almost 80k in my whip so that's out the window.. it has actually been working fine lately which is strange

now my new problem? my moonroof is tilted.. BUT it won't close at all..

and i still can't close my left rear window from the driver's side switch

and my fog lights are out for the count

why so many electrical problems? has anyone else encountered these things?

54k miles, and my warranty expired 2.5 weeks ago and this happened to me a few days ago. However I have found out that when putting it in DS and not using the manual mode it stays. On the other hand when I do use the manual it only lets me control shifts for approx. 30 sec. before D engages again. Also, when turning the car off and on doesn't help just repeats the process stated above all over again. I am frustrated that this has happened so close to my warranty and don't have $300 to pay out of pocket to fix it. Unfortunately, I think I think I am going to just sell it with a baby on the way I need to cut costs. ( I do love the car but can't afford it anymore. Might be going back to an altima, really sucks after getting use to all of the G's nice features.

You guys have any idea what this thing costs?
Mine is acting up but I'm out of warranty. Just curious of the price and if anyone knows how much skill is required to replace it.

Dont know about the skill part but my service adviser said ~$270 and as for mine my DS mode works fine but until I manually switch the gears it will then go back into D mode within 15sec of it being in M. I can however, play with M mode for 10 sec then switch it back to D or DS without any problems.
Out of warranty!!

I'm in M mode 100% of the time so this is driving me nuts.

I would imagine the part is 150-200, the rest is labor.

Try give Rick a call and see what he can do.

I think this issue should be brought to Infiniti's attention somehow... I had this issue right after my warranty expired (60ish) and luckily the dealer I always go to took care of the $700-800 expense... Here is the link to one of the threads that I turned to when I needed help with this issue.

I hope this helps out!

I have the same issue, im at 60,200 and Infiniti dealer near me basically told me to screw off they wont cover it. Ill have to see if the next nearest one will cover it.

If not, its good to know the part number if ever feel like replacing it.

I was out of warranty by couple hundred miles and my dealer still fixed it at no cost but still I think they knew that this is a common issue on the 07's and possibly 08's? My parents are getting mail in from class action law suits against BMW that look to be working because the dealers that denied us are now offering to fix the issues. Don't you all agree?
Unfortunately the whole shifter assembly or any other name that it has needs to be replaced and at first I was quoted $600+ ...
Hope my information helps!
keep us posted!
