yea that was the first thing i tried and i only got the honks back no beeps. im checking the fuses after work today

 

But hold on. When you say you got the honks, are you saying that when you lock the doors the car confirms with one honk and that if you use the button on the door handle to unlock you don't hear a beep?

haha no it would honk when i pressed the button on my keypad but no sound when i pressed the button on the door. no worries though. i got to the source of the problem

It looks like when i was changing the battery the positive cable sparked and popped one of the fuses in the kickpanel fusebox. its the fuse that is supposed to be removed when storing the vehicle for long periods of time. i got lucky and it was the first fuse i pulled. replaced it and everything went back to normal.

 

Sweet! Another cheap and easy fix. Gotta love those.

 

No kidding, I really didn't think you'd get anywhere with the fuse issue. Who knew!
