Yeah, that's what I was thinking . . . besides, how could anyone who took the tries off to get at the tpms NOT have rebalanced them?

The previos owner had them balanced before I recieved them.

He also had a dealer take them off the car for him and I'm thinking maybe they took them out. Im not sure. But its worth a shot

When you get a chance, take a look under your car and see if you can locate your tranny balancer. Im almost positive this is your problem as well as mine. The reason i think it is the problem is because i can still be going around 85-90 throw my car into nuetral and the shaking goes away. I am not sure if you are able to get rid of the shake by putting your car into nuetral like on mine but i am going to research it more and ill let you know if i find anyting else out.

if you're still having issues it wouldn't hurt to have the alignment looked at. I had a steering wheel shake at high speeds and a light noise coming from the tires, an alignment fixed both very well. Just an option, let us know if you find out the culprit

Ive had the same issue, but i think i know why. I hit a huge pothole going about 50-60mph .. Loud *** thump, i felt like my dam bumper ripped off.(Stupid NYC craters) Anways i came out, everything looked fine. The next day i tried starting her. It didnt start. i opened the hood, the battery cover flipped opened, the lug was removed from the battery and the wheel well moved. (the plastic over the wheel) all on the side that hit the pothole. Now i notice the steering shakes at speeds above 60 MPH. What should i check for and dooo?!

alignment should never cause a vibration even if it's way off

I have a vibration going 80-85mph. It seems like it is coming from the back since I can feel it in my seat much more than the steering wheel. Also, I can look over at the passenger seat and see how bad it is. It feels like unbalanced wheels. I did a tire rotation and there was no change--if it were the wheels, I would think the vibration would have moved to the front. I am running spacers but even went with H&R spacers after initially having Ichiba V2 and have reseated them 2x. My next move is removing the spacers to see if it still happens. My rotor/pad setup is stock and pads are getting low so maybe changing those will help if the rotors are the problem. Sad that my cheap old WRX is smoother at high speed than my G35. From 0-60 it's the other way around.

Is it possible your copper wire fix is no longer there?

At least for me, I went with H&R spacers. Much better wheel engagement than the Ichiba, even with copper wire fix.

It is sad when you are cruising along on a smooth highway and all you notice is the shaking/vibration.

It;s right around there..either $130 or $150..thats why bringing it to the dealer is a no no because right there is a $100+ bucks for them to say...what do you know it drives fine! only for it not too

So I took it to the dealer yesterday and get a call from my service guy.................not good news. He tells me all the wheels balance out wonderful but one of my new wheels (right rear) is bent! Well of course i start freaking out inside thinking how in the hell is this possible or true. I thought about it for a little while and called him back and said you need to show me on the machine that it is bent when I get there. He agreed and the mechanic stayed til I got there to show me which I thought was great.

So I get there and meet the tech who was working on my car (very nice person) and he threw my wheel and tire on the machine and everything was perfect so he tells me it must have been the other wheel. He gets the other wheel puts on the machine and that wheel balance with no issues.

WHEW my wheels were ok!!! That made my day.

Well my allignment was appearently waaaaayyyy off and they were able to perform the allignment nd get it back to factory spec.

The tech and I took the car for a spin and the allignment cured 90% of the shaking. We did notice a tiny bit in the steering wheel at some speeds but very minor. He told to bring it back in and they will go over the car completely with the master tech to try and get it all figured out for me.

Im definately glad that 90% of the shaking is gone and mostly from my allignment being way off.

Bringing the car back to the dealer to see if they can get rid of the rest next week.
