Car shakes from 60-75mph. Dont know whats wrong

So my car shakes at 60-75mph. Even if the steering wheel doesnt shake I can feel it in the car. I know its not my wheels and tires as It would shake with my stock wheels and tires on before and after they were balanced. When I put m new wheels on I could feel it even more. Im really not sure what to do because I know if I take it to Infinti they are just going to rebalance the tires and tell me its fine. Any clues what it could be and if anyone else has had this trouble? I know there was a post a long time ago where someone had this trouble but he ended up trading in the car due to not being able to fix his. I dont want to do that as I love my car.

thanks

I actually still have my vibration problem. Even bought new tires thinking that was the issue..nope. My steering wheel shakes sometimes..but on some roads it's fine. I can tell you exactly when it's going to shake at a certain point on a highway i always travel. I can get out of it at 80-85..but then i feel it in my seat a good amount but not steering wheel.

All Infiniti does is oh pay $150 for wheel balancing and then we will look into it..they do it and drive it and say it's perfect. Then i got in it and nope..it was even worse. So Infiniti is useless to go to. I went to a independent mechanic. He couldn't find anything wrong with the car. So i have a phantom vibration that i don't know will ever be fixed

I think mine might be the wheels. But i don't have a different set of wheels and tires to try

What type of tires do you have? Uneven wear? Also, have you looked at the diff fluid or trans fluid for any signs of wear? Only way to check those

I love my car as well and refuse to sell it until at least the 4 yr mark. But a phantom vibration in the seats and wheel is very frustrating..

Have you put your car in neutral when it's vibrating to see if it still does it? If it goes away you know it's the engine/trans

Just put brand new wheels and tires on it Saturday. Just as bad as my stock ones when it comes to the vibration. It is really annoying because its only at highway speeds and I drive highway every day.

Im with you I really dont want to get rid of my car but this is crazy

Have you brought it to a mechanic to look at everything? Shocks rotors driveshaft ect

Trust me i know how you feel. My 98 GP rode much much smoother on highway. But i still have so much fun with this car..hopefully i will find issue one day. Mine is more tires and wheels

What kind of wheels? Do they need hubcentric rings? If so, and you don't have them (or are not installed correctly) that may be the issue if you're experiencing more vibrations over the OEM set-up.

There are just so many causes for vibrations it's hard to pinpoint without looking at the car thoroughly, but also try that to begin with.

Also, to add. Find a newly laid strip of asphalt and see if you still have the vibration issues driving on it.

And as for re-balancing, try another shop that can handle Road Force balancing.

if this happens on a certain stretch of highway then its the road, also whats the mileage on your car, does it feel like the front end is loose or the rear, have you tried getting under the car and hood and seeing if there any loose bolts or look at the bushing to see if they are worn out

Hub centric rings are in and on correctly.

Car has only 40k miles on it. I put Eibach springs on about a month ago and looked the car up and down and all bushings and bolts were fine.

OEM tires were road forced with no issues.

As far as the road it seems to definately do it more on a brand new paved road.

I have a similar problem between 120 and 130mph...
Have you considered that it might strangely be your eibachs? If it only started in the past month since you've had your springs

So, i may have a theory as i too have the same problem that only happens after going 80+ mph. When i traded my stock exhaust with someone i gave them the tranny balancer (at least thats what i think its called) since the shop we went to stated there was no reason to have it as it doesnt do much and wont fit with after market exhausts. I never really get a chance to go over 60 mph as i do more city driving than highway until recently. When i get to 80 i start getting a noticeable shake and as i begin to reach 90 it gets progressively worse. Even though i have never realized if it happened when i did have the tranny balancer on, i am starting to believe that the lack of one is causing my shaking.

If you guys could, check under your car and see if you can see literally a chunk of metal bolted to your tranny (should be located in the center of your car just behind where the front wheels are located). I am really curious to see if this is the cause of thie mysterious shake.

It started before I put the springs on.

So I just thought of something

The previous owner of the wheels said that the TPS sensors should be in the wheels still. I dont think they are because my tire light comes on right when I start the car.

If who ever Un-installed the tires took the TPMS sensors out and didn't re-balance the tires that could be the problem.

I am going to go to Infiniti tomorrow and have them balance one of the wheels and see if it is off. I sure hope that is what is causing my shaking.

Oh ok that was just an abstract guess lol but I think pattyballs might be on to something, it sounds very reasonable according to my pro engineering instincts
