Well of course i start freaking out inside thinking how in the hell is this possible or true. I thought about it for a little while and called him back and said you need to show me on the machine that it is bent when I get there. He agreed and the mechanic stayed til I got there to show me which I thought was great.

So I get there and meet the tech who was working on my car (very nice person) and he threw my wheel and tire on the machine and everything was perfect so he tells me it must have been the other wheel. He gets the other wheel puts on the machine and that wheel balance with no issues.

WHEW my wheels were ok!!! That made my day.

Well my allignment was appearently waaaaayyyy off and they were able to perform the allignment nd get it back to factory spec.

The tech and I took the car for a spin and the allignment cured 90% of the shaking. We did notice a tiny bit in the steering wheel at some speeds but very minor. He told to bring it back in and they will go over the car completely with the master tech to try and get it all figured out for me.

Im definately glad that 90% of the shaking is gone and mostly from my allignment being way off.

Bringing the car back to the dealer to see if they can get rid of the rest next week.

wow..your lucky to have a great dealership to go to...some of us don't

That's cool

for people that are having hi speed vibration in steering wheel.. I had this mysterious problem that re balancing would not fix..sometimes after hitting a bad hole in street will cause a BELT SHIFT in what looks like a good tire, careful examination can sometime spot a slight bulge...look for it.

Thats what mine kinda feels like. The ride is bumpy and overall a very unsteady feeling with vibration 1 min..and no vibration the next time..may go 5 mile with no vibration..but next 3 will vibrate. Moving the front wheels to the back in my case helped as it's more in my seat now..so i am 90% sure it's not tranny or anything..just strange it did it with my old set of tires as well as new set...

sweet! glad the alignment helped out, it's always nerve racking when you don't know what your issue is or more importantly, how much it will cost to fix!

Didn't have time to read the entire post, but from my years of being a ricer I found 99% of vibrations are wheel related. Not bearing, control arm, axle or anything else really.

Rims not being centered on hub, bent rims (try taking your wheel to a roadforce machine) or cupped/unbalanced tires.

Oh and bent rims and shifted belts will feel wobbly at low speeds while unbalanced tires will feel shaky at high speeds (>80kph).

I've done it all boys and girls and paid through the nose only to learn what I told you in the last 30 seconds.

What happens though when every roadforce or machine balance says tires and rims are fine yet you still have a vibration? Because thats me lol

Roadforce balancing will solve a lot of balancing issues, but it's still not foolproof, like if the rim itself is damaged, for example.

The older G's had those problems with the compression rods. These really don't unless you hear a clunking

my steering wheel shakes noticeably at these speeds. Only the steering wheel. I think the wheels need to be rebalanced, the tires are worn evenly, or i have bends in the wheels...at least I hope as these would be the easiest fixes.

i've tried balancing like 5 times, wheel bearings are new, alignment is still recent. Others with bushings replaced, new rotors and pads still have the shakes. At this point, i need to rule those out as well.

I'm going to give the transmission mount a try. Although my shake might be different from others, it's from 60+ and constant in pitch/shake....we'll see how it goes.

I'm thinking it may be a shock that is leaking and you may just need to replace the struts... today I was driving on the tollway at about 70ish and felt the same... tomorrow I'm getting it fixed finally. sorry I didn't have all the time to read the above posts and that's why I gotta get back to work
