Options for Daytime Running Lights

so one of my halogen (daytime light) bulbs went out recently and i'm now thinking that i should use this opportunity to upgrade these bulbs to something a bit brighter (whiter).

have any of you done this? how does it look? where's the best place to get the bulbs?

What is the point of those halogens anyway? Aren't fog lights meant to be used exclusive from the main headlights? Meaning, headlights go off, fog lights go on? It's odd to me to add weak headlights to strong headlights. Don't see when that's going to come in handy.

So yes, I'm interested in this answer as well. If there's an upgrade out there that's possible. Or a way to modify the lights so that the fog lights can be turned on by themselves.

fog lights? i don't think my car has fog lights.

i'm in Canada, and we require daytime running headlights. these are the lights i'm referring to. they're weak halogen bulbs that stay on all the time (except when the xenons come on).

Oh, sorry about that. My car has the hid healights. But I can turn a **** on the left steering wheel stick in order to illuminate two weaker halogen bulbs that are situated in the same headlight housing as the hid bulbs. I assumed that they were meant to be fog lights.

We might be talking about the same thing. I'm not sure.

EDIT: Here, this is kind of what I'm taking about, if it clears anything up haha.
