Aftermarket HID Bulbs. Am I the Problem?

So i replaced the stock bulbs with Phillips 6k bulbs. Not some cheap $19 bulbs off eBay. Every once in awhile the pass. bulb will go out? (once a day) Ive swapped the factory bulbs back in and doesn't go out. Inspected the bulb and ballast and nothing seams to be wrong. Just wondering if our cars don't like aftermarket bulbs? Don't see why not? Wondering if anybody else has / had this problem?

Thanks

When you guys change the bulb, do you have to change the ballast also?

No ballast change. Just pure bulb swap.

^ whs, i bought generic knock-offs for $25 off of ebay about 3.5years ago and they have not troubled me even once, no flickering, no burn outs, no loss of color or different hues of color between the two. Ebay D2C bulbs FTW!!

Now as for your problem i highly doubt that our cars have a problem with aftermarket bulbs since 80% of the members are running all sorts of AM on their cars for years without problems, could be bad luck where you got a bad bulb from the manufacturer imo.

ya, i swapped bulbs from side to side and there's no prob. with the pass. side. Thank god its not my ballast going out (my big fear) I'm thinking its just a bad bulb. Good thing the bulbs are under warranty.

*** UPDATE ***

So i thought i had a bad bulb so i went ahead and went through the warranty process. The company was nice enough to just send me 2 bulbs and not ask for the other ones back for warranty. After replacing what i thought was a bad pass. side bulb, it still would blow out after 1-5 min. So my worst fear was true. I was lucky enough to have a spare ballast from a 350z. Swapped the ballast out and has been working great ever since.

I guess my car just has bad luck. 07 with 52k on the clock.
