Hello AUX problem please help thanks

ok i have a new problem with AUX (NOT RADIO cause that works fine). the right side of the car has not been playing music...(balance is set to the middle) is it possible that i blew a fuse for the right side when i had my volume all the way up by accident when i turned on my music? (the left side still works fine) or could it be the RED aux outlet that i broke from unplugging and replugging the AUX wire a lot? <<this is what i suspect, but just want to know your opiniones

thangyou

Did you try a different aux in wire? One of mine is a bit messed up and doesn't always play audio correctly. I would def. check the wire on something with aux in, in the house. Then check the player as well.

I don't think there is any fuse in cars generally that would stop just the right side of speakers from working...especially as you have said the radio works fine. So it is definitely in the MP3 player (or whatever source), the wire or the inputs. Hopefully one of the first two.

I would be checking behind the deck, have you done anything in that area recently? Could any harnesses have come loose or any wires been cut? If you opened anything between the aux in ports and the deck a wire could have been cut or a harness could have been loosened. What about the center console that holds the aux in, have you done anything there recently? Lastly I would be checking around the amp in the trunk, I think this is a long shot tho and probably not necessary but it would be a last thing I would double check to see all harnesses are plugged in. I've seen the shift boots on here, you didn't mess something up when installing one of those or anything? None of these should be a problem if you haven't opened or messed around in those areas. If you tried doing the "forbidden mod" that people call it around here that could have obviously caused the problem as well.

The "forbidden mod" has nothing to do with audio output...

Check out RCA ports, you might have damaged them somehow

I know the result of that mod but not the process, but if that's the only recent thing he's done and now he's having the problem then obviously something was done wrong or something was messed up along the lines...again no idea on the process.

A wire could simply be pinched when removing dash parts when doing something else, so you may have to just retrace your steps on anything you didn't where panels were removed, particularly as I said earlier between the inputs and the deck.

^this is what i suspect (a pinched wire) because the ashtray/shift boot area will not fit snugly back in, but i checked behind it and it appears that there is nothing behind it...?

Did you check the wires from this angle? (see last pic) Or is this just some custom install done by that member... not sure. Was just browsing and saw this and thought of your problem. I wonder if the port can be replaced from this angle (with a female to female connector from radio shack) because you thought it might be broken.

Just wondering if yours look the exact same as in the last picture because if it is like that where composites (rca's) connect on the other side. Then you should be able to switch the red and white and then hook up the mp3 player and see if the audio is now only playing on the other side only.

I haven't had my 07 long and haven't opened anything like this yet.

okayy...thats weird...i made an appointment with the dealership to fix it tomorrow, but tonight i figured i'd take another look at the wires, and when i took out the radio, the plug/harness i had modified for the forbidden mod WASNT PLUGGED IN. wtf talk about stupid mistakes... the weird thing is everything else worked fine even though there were about 20 wires on that plug that was unplugged! so i plugged it in and PROBLEM SOLVED. did it in 15 mins........ in conclusion: 15 mins could save you 15% or more when you visit the dealership for repairs.
