Need to replace shocks.... Need advice

Okay, so recently I have noticed the ride in my car to become much more harsh. Im not positive that my shocks are done, but its gotten to the point that i want to replace them because my G lost the nice ride it used to have. Bumps are alot harsher, more noticeable road noise, and i sometimes feel that my car is lower than it should be(not on springs).

My question to you guys, is do you think it is worth going with coils even if i wont be using them to drop the car? This is my daily and winter beater now, so i dont need it to be slammed or anything. Or, should i just go with a set of shocks from monroe with some stock springs? I would greatly appreciate any other routes that anyone can provide. Im looking for more of a luxury ride, not really looking to feel the road more or be able to take a corner fast. I kinda feel like it is pointless to go with coils, but again i do not have much knowledge on them.

And lastly, for those of you who have BC Coils for the x, how does the ride compare to the stock ride of the g? Have any of you guys tried the softest setting? Any comments or input would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you invest in coils if you don't plan slamming your car at all?? I would just pick up some Tokico HP blues and call it a day. I am running the Tokicos with H&R springs and I am very happy with the ride so far. Not at all bouncy, but I can notice a lil more rebound/dampening over my OEM struts which was what I was after.

But trust me, sooner or later.. you are going to wanna slam your ride, and you will kick yourself in the as$ for not going with coils from the get go. I want me some coils nao.

As much as i would like to slam my ride, i dont plan on investing in wheels so there is not much reason to slam it on stockers lol. If i were to go with the Tokico HP Blues, what springs should i pick up to be close to stock height and close to stock stiffness?

IMPUL if you want the least amount of drop. A lot of guys go with Eibach's for a mild drop without suffering ride quality. Both springs you can run w/o camber kits and should not have excessive tire wear.

Couldn't you just go with G35 Sport springs? When I was stock, even my neighbor noticed my G35S was lower than a G35X.

I'm just going to throw this question out to you...are your tires new or worn?
Also, I think the coil springs support the weight (not the shock) so your car shouldn't 'feel' lower.

Its not that it "feels" lower, it actually is starting to sag, or so i believe. And tires are new, Yokohama Advan S.4. I am starting to lean towards the Tokico HP Blues, with either Eibach or a new set of stock sport springs (if obtainable).

I've noticed a squeaky sound lately which appears to be coming from the bottom of the car. Could this be the shocks as well? If I want to replace mine and don't want any drop (X model) would the tokico hp blues be a good option?

Installing aftermarket struts will not alter ride height at all. It might raise the car a lil bit if your OEM shocks were sagging, but they will definitely not cause your car to sit any lower than what it is. Only swapping to aftermarket springs or coilovers will alter your ride height. Tokico HP blues will be a good option w/o breaking the bank.
