Revs get stuck

Sometimes when I drive my car and floor it on the highway, my rev's get stuck usually around 4 or 5k, it say's at that rev for a lil bit and then falls back to normal. Any advise would help

my guess is that you have an automatic and that it's just the ecu controlling the DBW throttle while the tranny figures out its shift; all of which is controlled by software and is subject to various version updates (some desireable, some not).

ill agree with Austin and VQ, its the car trying to figure out what you might wanna do next and holds rpm in apprehension that you might be looking to go hard again but then after a few seconds realizes that your adrenaline rush has passed and thus returns to normal

You may wanna reset your ECU if youd like the car to relearn your driving habits/shift points.

Not to thread jack (this is on topic right? lol) but does our ECU learn driving habits on a manual trans much like an auto?

And if so, would a manual G perform better if the ECU was reset and then driven hard for a certain period of time?

I drive pretty conservative 80-some percent of the time. One thing I noticed when comparing this car to my last one, an '07 altima 3.5 6mt, is that it doesn't seem to have quite as much of that immediate torque punch when accelerating. Maybe it's the "swell technology" thing. I also have heavy **** 20" FX45 wheels so I'm sure that has something to do with it, but my altima wore those wheels as well. Idk, it almost seems like my buddy's '05 G35 aero sedan 6mt has more initial torque pull although it might not be faster in the long haul. (and he has heavy 20"s too) What do you guys think?

Any thoughts appreciated.

^ well looks like you nailed the two main causes, the swell which gets rid of the abrupt power and adds the feeling of power being built all the way to redline and those heavy shoes also factor in a bit.

WIth that said just try reseting the ECU with the pedal method and i guarantee you that you will be amazed at the added "peppiness" of the car for a few days before it relearns your moderate habits... so basically yes the reset would help liven up the car for a bit at least.
