how to remove white road paint in wheel well?
driving home thru some road work, my tires picked up some still wet white road paint and it got slung onto the black wheel well. it's very noticeable. gotta love my city's transportation department.
i gave the car a wash yesterday and scrubbed at the wheel well but the paint is stuck on there pretty stubbornly. the problem is, part of the wheel well feels like it's like a fabric type material so it's hard to just scrape off unlike a smooth painted surface.
i'm thinking of removing the tire and spray painting it black to cover up the white flecks of paint. any risks with this? any alternative methods anyone can suggest?

laquer/paint thinner? i dont know if anything is strong enough to get road paint off though, that stuff is tough! but if that fails then definitely try spraypaint
P.S. i was staring at the title for a good several minutes trying to figure out what the thread was going to be about.... "pain in wheel well"??? haha

it probably wasn't road paint because they're usually stickers and come in strips. I ran over a spilled bucket of paint once and tried everything to get it off my wheel wells. nothing worked--i wouldn't bother trying to clay it off.
someone on g35nyc.com suggested removing the liners and spraying a coat or two of this:

a single can will cover all four wells with plenty left over plus it slightly reduces road noise so i highly recommend doing that. as for paint that got on your the body, you should try using your claybar
