Autos are for old women.

everyone hating on autos probably doesn't drive 2+ hours in rush hour traffic every day, or if you require your hands to do anything else while driving (cell phone, drink, yerba...) and sometimes it's nice to just relax.
weigh the pros and cons (eg: drivetrain loss vs still having a left leg when you get to work)

my biggest deal is driving in traffic, that's why I got an auto. Plus, my paddle shifters shift faster than most people can anyways...

edit: sd - they do make autos with the sport package...

If you read the Edmonds review its pretty bad.

The first time I drove one I was concerned as well - the clutch grabs about an inch of the floor.

There is a mod to make it feel better, but after a week of driving it I got used to it. Doesn't bother me one bit, although I'll occasionally kill it.

I bought the car with 23K on it two months ago and and 30K I had it at the stealership for some warranty work. They claim my clutch is going out and should be replaced, but it feels fine and isn't slipping.

I just switched from the Auto to the 6MT (both sedans) a few weeks ago. Anyone who says you cant have fun with a 300+HP auto is nuts. That being said, I'm very happy I switched back to a manual.
I've been a licensed driver for 30 years and the G35x was my 1st auto and it was very enjoyable for the 4 years I had it.
As stated in post 2, its all about preference.

I removed the spring a couple days after getting mine...the 'feel' is much better without.

i drive exactly 1.5hrs one way (3hr daily) each day in full rush hour traffic, basically its 40 min drive with no traffic, im mostly caught switching between 1st and 2nd every few seconds but dont even notice it or get tired of it. If you really like drive MTs then traffic really isnt an issue IMO. But i have nothing against autos they are great for most.

I have the 6mt and it took longer to get used to than previous clutch/transmissions I have experienced...I wasn't committed to the manual when I got mine--I just wanted the S and the best deal was on a 6MT.

I wouldn't mind having an auto in this car--plenty of power and better gas mileage would be a bonus...6th gear is way low in this car in my opinion...

With anything requiring coordination by humans, skill varies. Sadly most of the morons who race on YouTube are some of the worst drivers I've seen.

All jokes aside I don't mind having an automatic, especially in rush hour. I do miss my last car which was manaul though, sometimes you just want to go out joy riding and I love the thrill of shifting/downshifting and tearing up the road. Guess I'll just have to compromise by using my DS mode...
