When i start the car the rpm shoots up to 2000 rpm and slowly comes down to 1000 rpm and stays there. Usually happens in the morning and after i drive the car and start it again it will work fine. Any advice on what it might be Thnks in advance

 

mine does the same, it goes back down after its warmed up. I think this is normal.

 

yes it's normal. although your idle should be closer to 850, if it's not then clean your throttle bodies for some reassurance. but yes, when you start the car it idles high until it's lubricated and warmed up. no need to worry.

Don't worry this is normal. It always starts high and drops to under 1k. You should worry if it goes under 500 b/c your car will shut off

That's because 95* is still a cold engine.

(Hint: think of what your car's thermostat is set to)

It's normal.. however I've yet to get used to it. Maybe it's just me but I feel like it's hurting the engine to rev up to 2k when it's cold... seems kinda backward.

 

Just got my 35xS back from the shop because the idle was erratic and the SES was on. Come to find out, both MAF's were reading out of range (they think the previous owner had installed K&N's or equivalent and the oil damaged the MAF's) and there was a TSB out for high idle. They flashed the ECM with new software. Runs beautiful now. Luckily the car is still under factory warranty.
