Benefits of installing an oil cooler

My car is a G35S 2007 with some minor mods. I noticed that the car has a trasmission cooler. Can I install an aftermarket oil cooler to prolong engine life? Side benefits?

Thanks to all

Unless you track your car regularly, I highly doubt you will need an oil cooler.

a member on here has already done this a while back ---> https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-eng...installed.html

as mentioned above you won't really benefit unless you either track the car or if you're going with forced injection.

on a side note where are you located? because I thought US spec cars don't come with a transmission cooler (only GCC and *** models)

Sorry I belive it is the power steering cooler.
I live in Puerto Rico and my car is US specs.
Thanks for the links, they are very helpful.
Iám looking for installing and engine oil cooler and last night I found that stillen has one for $432. I saw that all people are in favor of setrab brand.

Thanks and take care

Yeah engine oil cooler is a little harder to upgrade, from what I remember it was somehow connected to the Radiator or something...Can't remember and yes Setrab is a good brand.

Good luck

As others have asked, why do you feel you need one?

To help the engine to be cooler and sometimes I go to the track and noticed that after some 1/4 mile passes the ET is not the same.

That's most likely heatsoak, all other things such as 60ft, etc being the same.

IMO, unless you roadrace/track the car where youre running it for prolonged periods of time (I.e. not 1/4 mile runs), then it's a waste of time/$$
