High Mileage 2nd Gens? What are you at??
Just under 140,000. 2008 IP G35xS. Have gotten the 30k, 60k, 82.5k and 120k maintenance done. Premium gas only. Synthetic oil only.
No major problems at all thus far however I will list what I have noticed.
- My MPG has stayed steady at around 21-22.
- Windwasher sprayers have no pressure. Basically are worthless.
- Car seems to have lost a step or two. Does not have the same take off from a stop.
- The steering wheel seems to vibrate a lot more, especially at higher speeds.
- I feel the exhaust note has gotten louder. More of a rumble now.
- Paint chips are a HUGE problem. My entire front bumper looks basically like a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream.
That is really it. The car is still a joy to drive. My wife has a 2010 TL and every time I drive her car, I find myself urging to get back behind the G.

- My MPG has stayed steady at around 21-22. Good for this car with these many miles
- Windwasher sprayers have no pressure. Basically are worthless. washer motor should be an easy/cheap fix with used motors
- Car seems to have lost a step or two. Does not have the same take off from a stop. Seafoam and TB cleaning time!
- The steering wheel seems to vibrate a lot more, especially at higher speeds. see below
- I feel the exhaust note has gotten louder. More of a rumble now. maybe a leak somewhere
- Paint chips are a HUGE problem. My entire front bumper looks basically like a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream. paint on front bumper IS a problem

otherwise a good report for the miles u have imo
I have 77,kkk and my vibrations from the steering are minimal to null, I can't believe you can get 21-22 mpg im getting like 18 with TPs and full exhaust. I here clicking coming from the engine now but i think its the belt tenisoner making that noise because the bearings are gone. Besides my dealer destroying my transmission, everything is as smooth as the first day i got it. Although the paint chips are a big issue too ( i feel its a magnet for this especially on the highway driving.) Im looking for a gloss carbon fiber hood see what that does, alot cheeper than a new bonnet.
I do mostly highway driving but other than that I seafoam and use BG44K every 6 months or so. Also got the spark plugs replaced in my last maintenance visit.
99,400 miles. Only problem I've had was warping front rotors. Clutch still has life.
Runs like new. Changed the plugs at about 95k and get 25 to 28 mpg, mostly highway. I have always ran synthetic 0w30 and change every 7500 mi. Zero oil consumption between changes. Probably gonna drive her till she falls apart. Until now I never had a car I didn't want to sell after 5 yrs or 100k. I think she'll go 200k easy.

^ nice little review, glad to see the original clutch crossing the 100k without losing life, this si the way it should be if the car is driven properly and not by too many people. also when u changed the plugs were they in badly worn condition or normal?

Lol, that kind of mileage on a 2007 is mainly hwy. The only major repair has been the AC compressor that seized. That $1200 or some odd amount should have gone towards some SSR or Wedssport wheels
Regular maintenance has kept it running great and I drive it harder than ever. Just had a transgo shift kit VB upgrade which should keep the transmission in better shape w the higher fluid pressure. Installing an oil cooler and transmission cooler in a week which will benefit not only during hard driving but in the long run as well.
I did have to swap my O2 sensors when I got my Berk HFCs at 100,000 BC they were very much seized into the stock cats. At 100,000 they needed to be replaced anyways.
At close to 140,000 the car is performing better than ever with the growing mods, very happy with it.

^ nice review, but $1200 for a compressor change??? if you dont mind me asking, how much was the compressor - labor? couldnt find a nice used or refurbished one? just curious if i need it in the future. thanks
I knew when I was replying to your response that it would curse me. I was replying from my phone during breakfast today and when I went to start up my car, the battery was dead. Jumped it and took it to the auto shop, test results showed it to be bad. 139,000 miles on the OEM battery. This is my first replacement battery in the G.
As far as the A/C compressor issue, I'd have to look back at the details of the labor vs. the part itself and will do that when I'm back at my place. It was last May/June when it happened. The car would crank and run idle but every 3 seconds the belt would seize and the engine and intake arms would jolt downwards. I could drive the car with the A/C off and it would not seize, but the chance was there that something could happen while I was driving that would shut the car down hard so I needed to have it repaired. I believe the part brand new was around $500-600 new and we found an OEM part for a little less than the dealership was charging for it, but since it was OEM they were able to warranty their work. The labor was a large part of the total because the entire dash had to come off the car for proper access. Unfortunately this is only necessary with the sedan and apparently not the coupe, so labor was much more for the sedan.
As far as this type of issue, it is extremely rare. My local Infiniti dealership had only seen this issue on one other vehicle, not just among the Gs, but in general. Not something to worry about, I'd say.
