My fathers friend owns a shop and one of the mechanic's there performed the task that led to this. Fathers friend usually works on our vehicles for free so their is nothing that could come out of the situation that will benefit me... I usually take care of everything at the dealer but on this occasion I thought it wouldn't be a problem. Yes, he did uses pliers and at this point I just took the car to where I should have performed the task at first (dealer) and told him to take care of it. At the moment I haven't heard anything back yet but most likely it should be ready by Tuesday.
I'm hoping nothing else got damaged in the midst of all this.

looks like this guy had really efd up by his procedure of installing a strut... The car has been in the shop since friday and hopefully tomorrow it will be ready with no shakes from the suspension and the new y pipe installed ... I'm sure everything will be fine and want to take the time to THANK YOU GUYS who helped me learn and figure out what possibly was wrong!... I appreciate it! and will post pictures soon with the parts that caused this and the effects of the bad installation.
