Final Dealership Visit for my G.

Just sent my mom home with the G since the bumper to bumper warranty is going to expire on Nov 14th.

Sad day, and now I am driving my moms 09 Base model Altima. Lovely.

Anyways, i am having them look at the brake shudder because my brakes are literally useless. They heat up so quickly and if you go anywhere near them, the entire car shakes terribly. They must be warped or something. i dont know. I thought the brakes were done when i bought the car last spring under the certified warranty??

Also having them look at the sunroof squeak AGAIN. Since now it like, thunks when i go over bumps. I also have a dash pop that comes and goes. So we will see how that goes.

Crossing my fingers!

Im pretty sure they will just resurface the rotor which will cure the problem for a few weeks before it comes right back, the right solution is to get some quality aftermarket rotors.

Hope they fix it right in the first place.

They should re-surface the rotors and put new brake pads on them for you, as for the sunroof I am having some issues with it too... the plastic lining around the sunroof (exterior) is turning grayish white. and whenever I'm getting the car washed I can feel a small leak. Best of luck!... and yes you can get a aftermarket warranty but they are either un-reliable or majority of the time they will not cover the issue you have. It's pretty much a waste of money.

Yes, but it's unlikely to be as comprehensive or cost effective as the Infiniti Elite Protection warranty. If you need contacts for shopping the Infiniti warranties, just let me know. I just finished doing a comparison on 5 separate dealerships selling them at discounts this past weekend.

I'v got the certified warranty for powertrain until 2014 or 100k so I am good there, just wondering about the bumper to bumper. What do they usually run??

^^ what (who's) warranty is that?

The pricing on the Elite warranty varies depending on what your mileage is and who's quoting it.

Hunh. So now you're looking to fill in coverage for the rest of the car, over and above the powertrain warranty; is that right? I don't know that Infiniti offers a component warranty product like that. When you say "Bumper-to-Bumper", it usually is THE most comprehensive type of warranty that includes all accessories AND powertrain. So . . . to buy one now would create redundancy with the powertrain portion you already have. You'd need some kind of fill-in/wrap-around deal to compliment your powertrain coverage . That may well have to come from an aftermarket source, and I bet it won't be cheap.

Can you sell your certified powertrain warranty back to them for a credit and then turn around and buy an Elite warranty? Sometimes you can, so I'd read your contract to see.

I just saw this in the Infiniti CPO section:

Beyond the coverage of our Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty, we offer the additional security of the Infiniti Elite Extended Protection Plan. It provides you with an additional year of coverage, a $0 deductible, expanded component coverage, expanded Roadside Assistance, and is fully transferable should you decide to sell your Infiniti.

Please read the limited warranty booklet and Elite Extended Plan booklet for complete conditions and exclusions.

So maybe they do have a wrap available to compliment the powertrain warranty, or at least preferred pricing since they know the powertrain is already covered. You should talk with a specialist: Courtney Mutena @ Scottsdale Infiniti 1-866-374-3412. She also beat every other price I got from 5 aggressive dealerships.
