G35xS vs. G35x w/ Nav
I just bought an 08xS about a month ago that also came with Nav. Honestly I haven't used the Nav yet as I always use the one on my phone because its easier. I think the sport model just looks cooler so I'd for that one.
As some stated it comes down to what you personally value more, and whether you have plans to 'upgrade' what you're missing.
The cost of adding 18"rims+paddleshifters+unique fascia is much more than adding a GPS alternative.
I would personally go with the Xs.

According to Infiniti the XS has a 'unique front suspension geometry tuning' different than the X

and tons of X users here would swap that "unique suspension geometry" with the XS since 2008 if it would be possible...
only '12 XS coupe has some suspension upgrades (at least BBK)
get the navi, add paddle shifters.
the navi is good with voice control, mp3 space on the HD, and compact flash reader... though i'd live without navigation before i propped up some additional device on my dashboard - or stuck some suction cup holder thing on my windshield.

I am looking at two G35x's, both are Premium and one has the sport package and the other has navigation.
The sport has 40K miles and the navigation one has 36K miles on it.
Both cost $22,970 and are from the same dealer.
I was just wondering if the sport is really worth it since it's essentially is a wheel/tire, seat, paddle shifter package. I had been leaning towards getting a G35x with nav but hadn't seen too many sports.
Thanks.

I would've chose the Sport though, knowing now what I have: a Sport, Premium and Navi package. I think you could live without the navigation but that would suck without one sometimes...hard decision man!
If you happen to find the seats in the X more comfortable, for you, than get it. Many people find the sport seats ok for short trips but uncomfortable after sitting in them a while.
You can easily add paddle shifters and 18" wheels to the X.
You can't easily add an Infiniti Nav package to the XS.
Also...the front tuned suspension of the XS is not the same a the sport tuned suspension of the G35/37S

Just wondering how much more this car would cost as opposed to a regular X
What do you mean its hard to add navi to a xS? just wanted to know more info. I bought the car this summer 08xS w/ Navi/back up cam/ hardrive/ paddles shift/ sport seats and pedals. I think everything possible upgrade came with the car.... 18' rims and oem spoiler as well.

I was suggesting that if factory Navi is highly important then he should get the X that has Navi now because it is very difficult/expensive (>$4k) to add the factory Navi system to a non-nav G35X.
If he bought the X with Navi he could add a sport bumper, paddles and some wheels by himself (I know there's more to the sport).
Again, it all depends on which features are more important to him between the two USED cars he's looking at.
I drove both - 08 models. I didn't notice much difference in handling and seats. I do an hour commute morning and night - paddle shifting isn't that exciting 0-25 and back to 0. I think the Nav gets you a backup camera which is nice. I don't use the Navigation (I like Nav on Droid) and don't use the hard drive. I like the wood trim. The car with Nav was a cleaner, nicer car so I bought it.
