Only the "holdback" that is supplied to them from the manufacturer. and if the car has been on the lot for months, then that eats on to their holdback.

Used, you just need to be informed on what you are buying... If you fall for the spew at at traditional dealership, like "oh, it has a clean carfax, no accidents or what ever yeah, it may happen, but who is gonna sell something at a great price. Their intention is to make money. Even if it is certified, it still could have been in an accident. something minor, or something major, but if the car shows clean enough to the dealers liking, they are going to tell you what you want to hear... Be realistic... People dont give a good deal for no reason. Dealers are designed to make money. Through shoddy extended warranties, paint protectors, tire warranties, rust proofing, etc. The biggest gain in a dealership is through Financing.... They are going to pamper your approval and add points. Well what if you get 0%... well it doesnt exist. Nothing is for free....

It is proven that a loan of 1.9% is a cheaper monthly than at 0%...
Think about that before I give you the answer
0 is more then 1.9 how would u callculate that? I worked for a dealer some time ago and you are right from the start to signing paperwork dealers are designed to take all of your money from a trade in to financing APR to warranty.. But there are still good deals out there if u know what are you doing.

@hotdawwgman: You are hilarious. To say that there is no such thing as a "good deal" is laughable at best. Especially when buying private party.

My seller was/is a CIO at a large, well-known aerospace engineering firm. You really think that he would go to the trouble of fraudulently selling his (according to you, supposedly problematic or wrecked) car? He would've filed an insurance claim and not given it a second thought.

All service documented at his old Infiniti dealer where it was purchased, clean carfax, mechanically sound. As I mentioned, it had some noticeable cosmetic wear and tear, he was simply WAY too busy of a person to be concerned enough to get scratches buffed or interior items replaced out of warranty.

He just wanted to unload it because his old state had no taxes on personal prop. and his new state does, and it was his 3rd car. I think his Mercedes SUV was his newer daily driver.

Well look at it like this...0% will equal to little to no incentive on actual vehiclewhere as an approval at 1.9% you can then recieve the incentives, find an even better approval or what not...example: Price of the car is exactly 25k you put Zero down, because everyone is stuck on zeroyou get 0% for financing for 60 months your payment is $416. Lets say with a 1.9% apr that the dealer gave you there for you could try to haggle on price and lets say you get 3k off. 23k0 down1.9 for 60 monthsequals $384 a month. over the term you will pay less than 50 bucks in interest, while saving 3k. You do the math...

Just offering my opinion... I personally am wondering why they have had the car since september? Usually these cars sell very rapidly but then again there may a legitimate reason. Is this a small dealership? and I personally don't think you can get it for that low because that's probably what the guy paid for at auction, but hey if your buddy say he can then get it checkd out and pull the trigger if it is in good shape because that would be a steel. I recently wen to an auction and saw a silver base g35 sedan with 70ish on it and it went for 15,500. Gotta logoff , but definitely be cautious because of the whole length of time that the car has been on their lot.

You must have felt your panels and found paint work! It's ok. Your car probably isn't the only one...

Very laughable

Like i said..i got a great deal on my car...no accidents and thats not basing it off of the carfax which anyone with half a brain knows you can't believe that at all. My car has been on a lift more times than i would have liked and i have looked it over 10+ hours myself since i got it a year ago. Engine blew but even if i paid 21K for it..it would have blow regardless as nothing could have stopped it

I never said there was no such thing as a deal, but when it comes to cars, it's a crap shoot. Take it as it is. I am not attacking you Steve, it's just what I see on a consistent daily basis.
