Used car buying seling points
I was just browsing through some classified and saw comments like: Lady Driven, Older Person as PO.
My question is, while some may see that as hey that car may not have been dogged out, how many of you see it as hmm females don't take care of their cars like males so how often was maintenance done? Same for older person.
If most will disagree with my statement on females; then why specify in ads "Female Driven"? Your thoughts!!

Personally, in the case of buying a used car, I take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt. Unless I meet the actual PO in person, at the location where they and the car lived, see their receipts and meet with them long enough to assess the whole picture, I don't believe a word. AFAIC, for anything less, I might as well be buying a used car from Hertz.

^ Totally agree same here. I sold a 2007 Honda Shadow cruiser lasy May and presented the buyer with all service records from day 1 of my new purchase. I didn't list anything on the add just the miles, warranty still valid and price. Once i met with the potential buyer I told him and presented him with all service records (dealer). Yet so many people "BUY" into "MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES" and all other crap that a seller list.
Since I'm a rider as well, I see people ask if a bike has been riden hard. C'mon anyone with a sportbike has riden it hard unless he/she just took delivery. Are folks that gullible/gullable?

I laugh when I read a listing that reads "female driven."
Not all, but most of the girls I know are hard on the brakes, curb rash the wheels and are mostly clueless to proper maintenance. I look at "female driven" to be a detriment to the car...
Disclaimer: I am not bashing all female drivers

There may be some truth to 'highway miles'. Case and point, I have a 2 year old motorcycle in the chicago area. My odometer rolled over 32K miles when I put the bike away in october of 2011 (got it brand new with 5 miles in march of 2010). Now, most folks don't put more than 3K miles a season on their bike, I have 5x that amount in 2 seasons.
If the car is relatively new, but with high mileage, but otherwise in good shape, chances are those were indeed highway miles.

^^Indeed. My fz1 is actually up for sale right now. I was in a bike wreck last summer while test riding something else. Since then i've lost most interest in local riding. I enjoy long trips to middle of nowhere, but the desire to get up at the crack of down and ride 400 miles to get to decent roads is no longer entertaining.
