So heres the deal, on my second g35x and i decided to finally do some work with it. I did some work to the exterior and just shipped a stillen CAI to my house. My girl has a g37s she bought from NYC that def had some work done to the exhaust. Thing just sounds meaty. makes my g sound like a little girl. Ive been looking through the forums and i see a lot of suggestions to get a HFC. Will that get me the "aggression" I'm looking for? A few of my friends have suggested just removing the resonators, but I'm a little nervous about it. Theres an evo, 335i, and an is350 and NONE of them have removed theirs (that they've admitted to). Im looking for aggression not LOUD. if i wanted to wake ppl up sounding like a civic, i would have bought one lol.. Suggestions?

Get a stillen exhaust to go with the gen3. IMHO, getting an HFC is just asking for potential problems, especially if you are mainly going for sound.

 

I have the stillen cat back system and the stillen gen 3 intakes. I really liked the sound of the exhaust when I had just the cat back system. I had a tanabe medallion axxle back for a while and it just wasn't quite enough. The stillen has a nice smooth tone to it and it sounds beasty.

Not too long after I was going to get a custom tune done and I was getting a CEL because one of my cats was bad. I had them replacxed with high flow cats supplied by Z1motorsports. From what I understand, they use the same cores as the berks but they were cheaper. The HFC's added a nice growl to the exhaust not but they also made the exhaust a lot louder. I don't mind it personally but I know thats not what you are looking for.

The HFC's also have a hissing noise when you are wide open throttle. Sounds kinda like a turbo

 

what kind of exhaust is on your girl's g?

is her G37 a Coupe? if so, thats probably why, they have a different exhaust setup than the Sedans do.

 

berk, md, and ark sound aggressive, fi and stillen really dont sound aggressive at all lol

Im not sure.. it came completely murdered out when she bought it. whoever had it before her had to know what they were doing cuz it looks insane..

yea its a coupe S. i didn't know that, and honestly its the onlyg37 coupe I've driven so you that could be correct..

 

yea they have a different exhaust setup than our sedans do. its split into 2 mufflers instead of one transversely mounted one. although some aftermarket setups like FI utilize the 2 muffler setup.


look at ark, thats going to be the most aggressive, but definately loud.
