Strange Seat Shaking

Over the past few months, I've developed a crazy rattle/shake in my front passenger seat. Typically when I'm driving >70mph, I hear a shaking sound, look over at my passenger seat, and literally see the entire passenger seat shaking/vibrating like crazy. I've tried moving the seat in various positions with no luck.

Have any of you had this crazy vibrating passenger seat (obviously only when no one is seated there). Is there any easy fix that I'm missing?

Mine does it too, I've heard of it happening to others as well.

Possibly a tire out of balance creating the vibration.

Can you physically move the seat? If so check underneath and make sure all your mounts are tightened.
Otherwise it is probably a tire. Does your steering wheel vibrate also?

The seat is very sensitive to vibration. As mentioned above, if you have a wheel balance or alignment problem, the seat will vibrate to that tremendously. I had terrible shake even after roadforce wheel balancing. However, I got an alignment done and to my surprise, it was way off and my vibrations went away--i guess my Eibachs settled some more after a year.

Mine shook the seat at 70mph, was a pair of warped rotors.

I got new tires, alignment, balance, and new rotors and they still shake... I mentioned this to the dealer and their response was that even the newer models have the same issue. I had this issue on my 6th gen maxima as well. Just something that I have gotten used to as it happens from time to time. Keep in mind that the road conditions can cause this too if your car has no driveability issues.

If everything else is up to par, you might try moving the seat position one way or the other and/or reclining the seat back more or less to suit. If itis indeed a resonance vibration, then the physical positioning of the seat will be part of that function, so changing the positioning should alter the effect.

I've been having the same problem, I can feel that my winter tires are out of balance, especially at certain speeds. I didn't put them on till the last week in December. With the light winter we have had up here and the low amount of km's I put on I didn't bother with getting them balanced as they are coming off soon and I will get them balanced next winter before putting them on.

It might be a tire balance thing. I'll have to look into that. I recently had them rotated and I don't recall if I had the issue prior to that. I will check the seat mounts too. Thanks for the suggestions.

even if you have an alignment and balance done, the rotors and pads replaced, and change the position of the seat you will STILL have some vibration. Mine does it slightly and all of my past cars have as well. S**t, the passenger seat in my Mazda shook so vigirously I thought about listing it as a massaging chair in the sale ad

Jeez guys, mine is solid as a rock and the other two Infiniti cars (a G37 and a Q45) that I've driven quite a bit never had any issues either.
