G35>g37

So I have a G37 rental while my car is in the shop getting the 60,000 mile service

I like my car better.

Is the G37 faster? maybe a little

Is the interior nicer? I do dig the new center council

What do I not like about the G37 then?

I dont like the green idiot lights that tell me my lights are on.
They make the car look cheap.

I dont like the new headlights when the lights are on- I dont like the orange lights where my fogs are.

In fact I just dont like the non sport front bumper at all.

I also dont like the new guages as much either. I like the violet ring in my speedo/ tach

Just reminded me again why I put some more money into my G35 and not into a down payment on a G37....

Am I crazy?

recently drove the G37 loaner and didnt like the new gauges either, its a bit smoother but nothing really popped as a big improvement to me, very similar except that the tranny shifted(hunted for gears) a bit weird. I too dont like the non sport front but really like the sports bumper with stock black lights and lip.

If I were in the market, I'd be looking at a low mileage G35 with just as much (price adjusted) consideration as a low mileage G37, with the only caveat being the warranty. Besides that, I don't see any great advantage or disadvantage of one over the other.

Yes.

Am I detail oriented? Yes- but I guess thats why my other car has been in 3 magazines.

I have no complaints with the G37. In fact if someone offered me a white sport '10+ G37 sedan, the 08 would be gone in a heart beat.

I'm driving the G37 sedan as a loaner while my G35 coupe gets the OC issue fixed.
Personally I think the G37 is much faster, but I still like my G35 more.
Prob cause I've modded it to my taste and I prefer coupes.
I drive like an old man in the sedan, that'll prob change once I get my baby back

Well, that's because generally speaking, the G37 IS much faster than a V35 generation coupe, but then so would a G35 sedan of the V36 generation. I don't think this thread was meant to be a cross-generation comparison (ie. V35 to V36), it was only comparing variations within the same (V36) generation.

Honestly, the OP has pointed out each gripe I had when driving the G37 as a loaner car while my G35 was in the shop. It is a little more aggressive than my 2nd gen sedan but really not by a whole lot. A good tune can get the stock G35 up to par with the G37 IMO.

I think if you are comparing a g35 sport to a g37 sport that'd be a better comparison. But the dealer never has those for loaner cars, at least here in Austin. They just get cheapest base models (apparently they lease them), which are no fun.

The deleted post about 1/4 mile times is useless without all the other accompanying, pertinent information such as 60ft, DA, etc.

The only thing I like about the G37 (loaner) was the mpg of the 7sp auto on freeway, and the parking sensors were kinda nice to have.

Otherwise, I can't wait to get in my G35S 6MT again ...
