Are you sure the pump is putting the proper amount of gas to fill the tank? Some older G's have an issue where they will falsely report that the tank is full during a fill up. But in actuality the pump stops prematurely. I believe to check this, next time you are at the pump, flip the pump upside down when inserting it into your gas tank and see if it fills it up properly this time around

Need more info here. Did you truly fill the tank, or merely filled it until the gas pump clicked off? When you refilled it, how many gallons did it take to do so? Is your engine running smoothly with the normal amount or power? Did your gas gauge show 'FULL" when you filled it? Did the gauge drop linearly as you went through the last tankful, or did it plummet erratically?

How hard are you driving the car? If you are taking off from dead stops hard, speeding all over the place and idling you car and burning fuel for long periods of time when parked?....it's possible. There was one time that I had a lot going on in a short period of time and was going from point A to B rather quickly for several days as well as sitting the car car idling using my laptop for half hour to an hour at a time and one tank was gone in only about 180 miles....

If you are driving normally then your car may have an issue

When I got very bad gas mileage on my few previous cars, it has always been a dead O2 sensor. You can go to any auto service and tell them to diagnose through OBDII port.

if he has a bad O2 sensor then his CEL should be on unless he reset it, if the light doesnt come on then there will be no codes to be reader by the OBDII reader imo. could be a faulty gauge level sensor

The cars that I used to own are late 90s model. I am not sure if it is a malfunctional issue but CEL did not led up when the O2 sensor is dead. However, the diagnostic device at Tiresplus or other auto shop can detect it. Anyway, it's worth a drive since most of them offer free diagnostic.

ORRRRRR . . . maybe he was just enjoying a little too much of the '420', and either forgot to fill the tank all the way, or forgot he'd driven more than 100 miles.

(he seems to have forgotten this thread anyway)
