Sticky Steering Wheel anyone?
All,
Didn't find anything searching (but I did find out that the trim on the pull handles and steering wheel is a known issue). When I'm driving and take my hand off the wheel it feels tacky and I have to peel my hand off the steering wheel. It doesn't feel tacky to touch, just after I have my hand on the wheel for a few minutes or longer. I conditioned and cleaned the steering wheel yesterday but it didn't help. Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks,
Lew

^ dont use any armorall type products on your leather steering wheel, clean ur steering with damp cloth then following it with a leather cleaner and dont condition it imo cause it can get sticky if used even a tiny bit more than the leather can hold

Thanks for the tip. I just picked up the car 2 weeks ago and now I'm wondering the dealer used some sort of cleaner on it. It's been tacky since I got it. I used Leatherique on it yesterday and it didn't help it.
lexol leather cleaner spray which is an orange bottle will probably clean it out. Hasn't failed me yet in cleaning my leather. Doesn't leave no residue as well.

I had/have the same issue. I bought my car used from a dealership about a month ago and my steering wheel always felt tacky after driving a few miles. Even if just washed my hands right before driving, so I know it's the wheel itself. I used some Mother's leather cleaner on it and the cloth I was using turned black, but only when cleaning the top of the steering wheel. After a few cloths it stopped rubbing black off. I've never had this issue with leather before so I'm pretty sure the dealer used something like black shoe polish to hide that the steering wheel was actually a little faded from the previous owner. After the black stopped rubbing off I applied some Mother's leather conditioner and the wheel hasent felt sticky since.
