60k Service?

The dealer wants to charge $580 for the 60k mile service and also charge $280 for just the front brakes. Is it worth it? Has anyone done them? What is included in the service?

Check page 21, most people go with Schedule 1/2, which isn't a lot.

Even with Premium service, you can do this for so much cheaper going the DIY route. There are many of them already posted here on 'Driver. Feel free to also peruse my site at gshack.org for a few.

I would change the oil, filter, trans fluid, dif fluid, and spark plugs. Check the coolant level and brakes. Probably don't need to be replaced, if they do it's an easy DIY.

$280 for front pads if it includes machining the rotors is a very good price from a dealer. I got quotes well above $300.

I agree with other posters as to the 60k service - you can't just ask if $580 a good price. You need to know what's being done other than the never ending inspection list. But I do think there is some value to that inspection.

I plan on going in tomorrow just wondering if anyone has had the dealer do this service. I didn't know what was included that's why I asked. I'll most likely go with what you guys said and just get things itemized. I appreciate the feedback.

I did every single maintenance on the car myself after seeing how much the dealer charges+having the dealer damage my car multiple times. IMO DIY and save yourself hundreds of dollars!

my local nissan dealer will do it for 199 per axle, including pads. A cheap way for inspection is go to the dealer for an oil change, they check a list and give it to you, because they want to sell you services for those items(Or do it yourself). No reason to pay

Correct, the HR's are a lot better, I was just using that as an example of the factory recommendations aren't always the best. The fact is that VQ's destroy plugs, and the factory ones are too hot
