transmission fluid

2007 G35x sedan, anyone know how many km until transmission fluid needs to be changed? and anyone know how to check the fluid? thanks

Check the dip stick while the engine is running every 480280.32km for tranny change.

HERE you go, look at post#14 to see where the tranny fluid dipstick is... its behind the engine secured by a 10mm bolt i think

Well, it depends on a lot of things. If you drive super aggressively you should change every 30k miles. If you drive mostly highway miles you can even get away with around 70k miles.

Just pull the dipstick up and sniff it- if it smells burnt then you should change it asap. If it still smells sweet, then it is still fine.

I changed mine at 60k miles and still running fine. I'm not even using Nissan specced transmission oil and am using some crappy one the nearby mechanic put in that is compatible with Matic-S/J.

Some say they got 5-7 qt out just by draining it. I only got 3-4 qt out of the drain plug. If you disconnect the transmission oil cooler line, you will get about 17qt claimed by others not me.
