Automatic transmission fluid change....help me make a diy

I have searched on all forums and came with squadoooo. So maybe some of you can guide me through this process and I can make a diy or something.
I am no expert. Use this as a guide at your own risk. I m not a MECHANIC. I don't claim to know it all. I couldn't find any info and wanted all to pitch in so we can figure out how to do this.

oh snap, is it the black bolt on the oil pan? In the upper left hand corner in the pic. It's big, it's black and it's hexed. that means i didn't have to take all the under coverings off. oh well, might as well change the rad fluid while in there. i have 76k

Ok it's almost half time of colts vs jets. I will get out there. I have found the drain bolt above and I have researched that i can almost get 5 quarts out of the 11 and change it holds. I just have to look for the at line that returns from the rad and drain that line. It holds another 5 qts in the converter. I bought the wrong liquid though. the sales guy told me to buy matic s but i insisted I wanted the J. oh well. next 30k i will use matic s.

half time over. the bolt i have shown seems to be the correct drain bolt for the automatic transmission. it's a 19mm hex with a crush washer. I am **** out of luck b/c the guy told me it didn't come with a washer. oh well. I only bought four quarts of matic j anyway so I have to go back. I plan on draining the line that returns from the radiator after it cools. I have read somewhere that it should let me drain additional four-five quarts if i let the car idle.
I drained about 5.0 quarts from the drain bolt area. I let it drain over night. I only got about 3.8 quarts when I removed the drain bolt.

Why did you want Matic-J? Matic J is old and discontinued. Matic-S is a far superior fluid. Also I would not let the car idle with it being 3.7 quarts down imo

car wasn't ideling when i drained her. I let it idle to get it warmed up for 10 min berfore I removed the drain bolt.
I bought 4 quarts of J. I thought that's what i needed. I can chuck it and just get the s. Can you mix j and s?

I found the diagram for the at transmission lines that go to the radiator. it didn't label which line is the return. I am gonna guess it is the top one. Jets win.

Yea S and J can be mixed, as S is the replacement for J

K, let's continue. I noticed that the fluid wasn't draining much so I took the plug out to take a pic and forgot to put it back. This is the result. About a quart or more poured out over night onto the garage floor. ****...what a mess

This is the AT/Fluid recharge pipe. You can find it on the passenger side behind the motor. You have to remove a 10mm bolt to take the dip stick out. I bought a small funnel from wally world that fit perfect.

Matic S ------ I wound up using 9 quarts but should have used more. My fluids were changed not too long ago at the stealership.
