2008xS Rear Bumper being replaced, should I go new 10+

So, my baby recently had an altercation that will require my insurance company to replace my rear bumper.

If you guys had a free bumper coming your way, would you just replace it with the 2007-2009 matching bumper, or would you get the 2010+ newer bumper?

I am pretty sure I've read that those bumpers are totally interchangeable, but confirmation would be nice.

What does everyone think?

The difference is so subtle that only a G owner might notice. I wouldn't bother.
What would you do about the parking sensors?

From what I've read nobody has done this swap before, so nobody is actually really sure the new rear bumpers can be retrofitted into the older sedans.

You could be the guinea pig and tell me later if it actually fits, because I don't know if anyone has actually done this swap and successfully reported it here.

I guess I will stick with a matching bumper. If it were the front needing work, I would definitely upgrade.

I would stick to 2008 bumper

when its time for you to sell the car, you may have to explain why the bumper is different ... but that's just me.

I personally think the 07-09 rear is better looking than the 2010+ ones. Don't like how the rear valence curves out all the way to the edges. Looks pretty hideous IMO. Just my .02

I think that is great advice, thanks everybody. Gonna stick with 08.

While the car is getting painted and in the shop, I am thinking of getting the sport chin spoiler upfront. Anyone know of a good place to order?

Well, I get my car back Monday afternoon after some final detailing. So, I drove by the repair shop and it looks like I am the first person to put a 10+ bumper on an 07-09 body style. Not exactly what I had in mind, but it's prolly too late now. I could only see the car through the fence and from a distance, but I think it actually looks pretty good.
I'll post pics once I get it back.

What happened? Did you start out telling one guy you wanted the 2010 bumper and someone else to change the order back to an 08 and the ball was dropped? Or did you commit to the 2010 and it was too late to turn back? Or did the shop just take it upon themselves to order you the "newest bumper?
I like the 07-09s better but it's not too dramatic either way.

So I spoke with the owner about the possibility of getting a 10+ bumper back in February(when the accident occurred) and he said he thought it would be doable. When I brought the car in to be fixed at the end of June, I thought we decided on the 08. Oh well, the 10+ is growing on me. It definitely makes the car look a little newer.

I am also going to get the sport front chin spoiler/lip installed as well. He quoted me a great price and ordered one(I gave him the correct part number, but he ordered the Journey lip because that is what Infiniti told him was the correct part based off my VIN.) I've seen this happen to others on this forum. It has to be a rare event that a customer is correct when the dealer is not, so I dont blame him.

I think the chin spoiler and the new rear bumper will help make it look a little newer and more aggressive. I'll post pics once I get it back.
