Hi from Australia

Hey Guys I'm from Australia and also new to the forum, I hope to get some support from you guys! Here in Australia there's very little support so it's very difficult to find tips.
I'll be getting a black V36 350gt sedan soon and am already thinking of modifying the thing! Don't want to over do it though as it's going to be a daily driver/comfortable cruiser.

Things I have in mind so far:
- Eibach spring kit to lower it (didn't want to go airbags for obvious reasons and i'm scared coilovers will be too uncomfortable unless you guys have tried some you really like?)
- 20" rims! (or is this too much?) Was thinking of going leon hardiritt orden wheels but i'm not too sure of offset and fitment. Please show me what fitment you guys have?
- Thinking of tinting the windows to 10%
- Going to rip of all badges front and rear
- Order a simple black grill with no emblems from ebay to replace the chrome one
- i found this youtube clip of a blitz exhaust - got me thinking of a one as well..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=aTjPdKgcfUc
- what do people think of tinting front and rear tail lights?
- Also possibility of changing to this front bar in the future! Basically the look im gunning for
http://blog.bespokeventures.com/wp-c...323a0d716f.jpg

Thats it for now.

Any suggestions or input would be great! Thanks guys

Welcome to the forum.

I've installed the Eibach performance springs on my car and my wife barely noticed the difference in the ride. I do have the stock shocks though.

I considered getting 20s until I lowered the car. Then decided against it... Try lowering it first and waiting for it to settle before upgrading to the 20s.

I don't know about blacking out the rear tail lights... I know lots of people who do it buy I'm too afraid to. There are too many tailgaters, old men with newspapers on the steering wheels, and young women eating bowls of soup while driving around here...

(not to mention these idiots will follow you while lane changing)

Bahahaha, that's too funny mate. I've seen so many wannabe's over here that do all they can to convert their car's identity over from a G35 to the 350GT. I'm sure someone would love to get some of those bits from you.

Welcome

Thanks for the reply! That's good to hear the eibach springs don't change ride quality much, as i'm also planning to keep it on stock shocks.

I think that's a good point, so i'll probably order the springs first and see how it settles in first.

Hmmm.... yeah we have some pretty crazy drivers here as well! might be a good idea to keep them as bright as possible aye? haha

Cheers mate

Welcome

Haha really!?! I guess people go with whats more rare in different places. For e.g. we dont have infiniti here but we have nissans running everywhere! so we try to be a tad different by changing it to infiniti lol vice versa i guess. I'm just going to leave the whole thing badgless... i want to keep people guessing here as theres not too many running around right now.

Hey mate

2007 V36 350GT sedan from Sydney; had it for around 5 weeks!

Some great stuff on this site if you have the time to trawl through it.

Make sure you check this thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...mpilation.html

Personally I like the Fast Intentions HFC and CBE and would buy it if anyone (including vendors from this site) actually responded to my requests for a price delivered to Sydney.

I'm going to leave mine badged but was also thinking of changing the springs as well rather than going the whole hog with coilovers.

I also thought about tinting the lights but read on Skylines Australia somewhere in the V series sub forum (I think) that the cops love to defect that, so after upgrading from a R33 which was a target car, I figured I would enjoy a bit of anonymity! There is a vendor here that does GTR style cut outs but I'm still not convinced - I can't remember his username but I'm certain others here will point you in the right direction.

That looks like a WALD bar I think - http://www.wald.co.jp/english/carran...e/v36/v36.html

You can also check Yahoo Japan auctions at http://www.importmonster.com.au/ although Ebay is actually cheaper on a lot of stuff.

Apologies if you are already across some of this stuff, threw it in just in case!

Good luck and post pics

Nice! What do you think of your new car? was it what you expected it to be? what colour?

Yeah i trawl through here more the skylines australia forum cos they don't have much on the v36's there!

Thanks for the exhaust compilation link mate, i also think the fast intentions sound great!

Hmm yeh sydney cops are no good so may leave the blacked out lights

I think the front bar is from access evolution, Walds a different style front bar, but i love the rear of the Wald kit!

Yeh yahoo auctions and import monster are difficult and pricey at times, better of ebay for now i think.

Thanks for the info mate!

Will keep you updated!

Overall really happy with the V36, as a new import into Aus it was stock so it's like a blank canvas I have to play with. Two things I don't like are:
Body roll in corners - hence my comments about springs and maybe also an upgrade to sway bars is on the menu (probably spoilt cos I had coilovers in my R33)
Its a 5AT and I don't like the shift, its a little soft in changing. There's posts in here and in the V series sub forum about a Transgo upgrade kit which I think I'll put in - all of the feedback seems positive.

You'll see me on the skylines aus forum with the same username, not hugely active, but post a little. A lot more resource here and loads of posts from there point across to here anyway.

Mine is blue slate, my R33 was black and I promised myself never to buy black again!!

Ahh ok Thanks for the reply! Yeah there seems to be alot more resource here then over at SAU for these cars. I myself had a black s14 and vowed never to get a black car again, but they look so sexy when clean... lol

BTW Does anybody here know if there are differences in the sizes of springs from a G35 compared to a 350GT? For e.g. will tein springs JDM fit USDM G35's or vice versa?
