Ipod interface stopped working.

2008 G35s with navigation. I was listening to Pandora from my iphone yesterday with it plugged in at the arm rest. As I have done before, I was browsing the interwebs at the same time. The music started to cut out like it was buffering and the "no ipod connected" message came up on the screen. I unplugged it then plugged it back in and it worked fine for a minute until it did the same thing again. Now it wont even recognize an ipod hooked up to it. I tried my ipod classic, and it still doesnt recognize anything. Thoughts? What should I do? This is driving me crazy not having any music in my car. To me, it's the equivalent of leaving your phone at home. Someone please help!

Looks like a user error. But follow these steps and see what happens.

1) Restart all your devices. (Basic reset on your iPhone)
2) Make sure your console iPod/iPhone connector is connected properly.
3) Make sure your device selected is iPod on the car console.

Thanks, but no, it's not user error. I've been swapping my iPhone and iPod in and out of the car for the last year that I have owned the car. I checked the cable and it is secure on both ends. The screen pops up on both devices (pod and phone) that it is connected but not able to charge, which is normal. The Infiniti logo does not pop up on the device showing that it is connected with the head unit. I think it is the head unit and my possibly need to install some software. Or, if there is some kind of factory reset by pushing a combination of buttons on the HU, that might work. I'm running a second battery, so my next step might be to disconnect both for a while and reset the whole car.

Update: I bought a new interface cable and it fixed the problem for $38. Evidently these things go bad.
