Angry My lug nuts hate me

I'm trying to plastidip my wheels just to see what it would look like. I wanted to take the entries wheel off so I wouldn't spray any dip on the brakes and what not but my lug nuts are complete stuck. I've tried PB blaster but have had absolutely zero success. The only nut that will come off is the lock one with the special key.

Tips/help please!

Global Gym....where's your sand? lol

Some "Jackazz" installed your wheels with a impact gun and over tightened them which is the main cause of warped rotors! Not sure what you're using to loosen the lugs but you may need a breaker bar with an additional 3' long pipe to get em loose, hope you don't break the lugs. Any time anyone installs your wheels have them use a torque wrench set at 85, that will resolve any issues in the future! Are you sure you want to plastic dip your wheels? The right way is to have them powder coated or at the very least use quality paint....Gary

If you plan on pulling off your wheels more than once, I'd suggest investing in one of these cigarette lighter impact guns. I bought one to install my coilovers, since then I've used it 20+ times, still works like a charm. Has enough torque to pull of 230lbs I believe, which is plenty. No need to break the lugs loose before jacking up the car either, it will take a few extra seconds but it works great. It is a "kicking" type gun, where if you have a tough lug nut it loads up and then kicks to break it loose, once it's loose it simply spins like a normal impact gun.

Hopefully the link works:

Be sure to ONLY use a 6-point socket on the nuts if they are that tight.

Must've been the wise guy who put my new tires on at discount tire. Thanks for the tips though! And I just thought I'd plastidip one of the wheels just so I can get a good visual of what it might look like. But since I can't get them off looks like I won't be dipping anything!

gary c pretty much nailed it. Thats the only way to get them off if they are that tight. Iv had a few similar run ins like that on my previous cars where mechs have tightened lugs with their impact guns without they torque limit extensions and i was able to get em off using a long breaker bar with a long hollow pipe over it for added leverage. Let us know how it goes. G/L!

Tell your wheels you are getting them powdercoated and I guarantee they come off. They are protecting you from plastidip.

hope your threaded studs are over stretched from the over tightening of the impact tool otherwise you might need to press them out and replace them. good luck
