Had a retarded idea, would it work?

My lower valence grille is open and I have installed a grille over it. Right now its doing nothing. Only thing its doing is cooling my wiper fluid :P I had a idea to take a hose and lead it from the lower valence and attach it to the intakes (The two small openings leading to the air box). Not looking for performance gains just want my lower valence grille to do something, Is it a retarded idea as in it'll suck in water or something? Thanks

yes. the lower the intake the better chance it has to intake water during a flood. why did you remove the lower valence? im assuming you have the Journey, so thats a pretty big gaping hole to fill.

Our intakes already get direct air from the outside thru the grille. Ram Air effect

Not trying to shoot these Ideas down.....but I highly doubt the gains are worth the effort to do this mod. However, I'd love for someone to show some dyno'd proof of the gains and prove me wrong!

ughhh not sure. mine's a x so its the real ugly one with 2 huge plastic valence. Its not fully cut open. Right now its partially open and there is a after market grille over it.

Perhaps you can post a picture of this aftermarket grille?

its nothing special. Look in my garage. I bought it just to cover the opening up a bit. But still plenty of air flow that's why I was thinking of utilizing it.

As most mentioned, the G already has a ram air set-up for the OEM intake (IIRC, up to 6hp at speed per their old marketing material.)

How about brake cooling ducts?
