Passenger Air Bag Sensor Glitch? (Dash and Light different)

Recently, on the right side of my on board dash has been illuminated with the airbag light flashing repeatedly. The "Passenger Air Bag Sensor" light that is located underneath the climate controls works fine. Illuminates when a passenger is not present and turns off when a passenger is present. Should I be concerned that these lights are not in sync. Is this ? Possibly a driver airbag problem?

Please chime in!
Thanks

You should get that checked out...that is very dangerous and means that the airbag will probably not deploy or deploy prematurely. Any type of airbag sensor malfunction will show up on your dashboard, which is what you're seeing. It may be possible that your airbag has malfunctioned.

There are diagnostics that the dealer can run with their equipment (Consult III) to see what the system is complaining about. It may be worth it to have them troubleshoot it, and then decide if you want them to perform the actual repairs or perhaps DIY.
Was your car ever in an accident?
