Need advice before i spend money

I'm a novice when it comes to working on cars (basically change oil and tires) so I need some advice before I got to the shop and they charge an arm leg and two toes for a service. My car has a loud squeal when I first crank it. It sounds as if it could be the fan. after a few minutes of running the noise stops. Its always worse first thing in the morning than any other time of day. Is it something simple like a belt or should I prepare to kick out some extra cash? All help is appreciated

More then likely you need to change your drive belts...theres 2 of them...About $45 on amazon...Mechanic could slap em on for like $60.....

"tune up" = archaic term. You should check your manual to see what maintenance items need to be done and just do them. There really is no tune up.

Since you have 2nd gen G there is only one drive belt not two unlike first gen Gs.

And HERE is link for maintenance guide for 09 which is same for 08

Littlehess, do yourself a favor go to Nissan and buy their belts they'll last double the life of the trash you buy on line or at your local auto parts store. (fact) Belts making a noise like you describe need replacing. Buy quality parts for your quality ride....Gary
