350z mid pipe on 08 g35S Sedan...??

Hello everyone...first off wanted to say how i love this site. I bought my 2008 G35S Sedan a couple months ago and i LOVEEEEE ittt...best car in the world...its black on black and fully loaded...navi, back up cam, paddle shift... da whole enchilada... One thing i don't like about this year, is the exhaust is a too quiet

I am not a ricer what so ever .... all i have done to the car is K/N drop ins and painted my grill matte black and left the emblem as is... looks good.... anyways...lets get to the real deal holyfield..I have been researching a lott and I cant seem to find anything on an 08 g35 sedan with a 350z mid pipe...

I need all u experts to let me know how i can get that old school growl... I was thinking of buying the 350z mid pipe and getting it installed on my car... I have someone on craigslist who has it and lives pretty close... all your responds are much appreciated.. also i am open to anything else that might give it that old school growl of the 350z or coupe.. thanks and you guys all rock

Sorry to burst your bubble but the first gen and second exhaust systems aren't interchangeable except for the y pipe. Get a set of HFC's or replace your exhaust system, those are your 2 options to make your car sound better.

Thanks for you quick response.... Thank god you told me this I was about to buy it today... So, those are my only choices

I was thinking of doing a custom magnaflow... Xtube, 2 mufflers and 2 resonators.

Xtube: 11385 X 1
Resonator:10415 X 2
Mufflers : 12225 X 2

Exhaust systems are so pricey for this car... I was looking at the HKS Replica, but after searching for days, i discovered they don't make it for my car

Ohh ya...What size piping do you guys suggest... 2.5 or 2.75 or 3... I personally think 3 is too big, unless i was gonna strap a turbo... but I will not be doing that... Which size would produce the best airflow and sound. I don't want to lose power what so ever..Looking for better sound and hey, if i get a hp or 2, I am def down with that.. But DO NOT want a loss.... thanks again.

in reality, im looking for power more than noise. Noise is just a plus. I would rather have a full cat back... But I am not down to pay 1500 for top of the line exhaust. But I want to get something that's not ricey and not too loud... I just want that deep sexy sound...

Wouldn't a muffle delete be noisy as hell..ie raspy, hardcore drone... ? I want a clean sound..

Nope not really at all .. Look it up on you tube i attached the page of the muffler delete so you can see. Its all up 2 the driver which ever route they want to go for. But yes our exhaust are a bit pricy for good stuff, but you get what you pay for.

Yo Drizzy,

Funnies thing happened today... I was thinking about the muffler delete while driving home from work... then some dude in a g37 sedan rolls up next to me and sounded like he had a exhaust, he was all driving fast and revving... sounded really good... a little too loud for me but it was koo... i asked him what type of exhaus does he have and he said he did a muffler delete.... loud as hell..it was perfect timing.. now i know what it sounds like close up ...

magnaflow custom exhaust

alright guys...so i have made up my mind

This is what i am going to do... I am pretty much going to get the Magnaflow catback exhaust made for my car for a third of the price... I called magnaflow and asked them for part numbers of the resonators and mufflers used in their cat back exhaust system for the 08 sedans...

They gave me the part numbers: 14226 (muffler) and 14416 (resonator) I will need 2 of each.

These are the exact parts used in full catback exhaust system that sells for 1300.00.... I am going to order these from performance peddler, which comes to a total of 300 + tax... then I am going to attach them together at a muffler shop with 2.5 inch piping and possibly the magnaflow xpipe # 11385 which is like 90 bucks at performance peddler as well. So, instead of wasting 1400, I can have the same thing for about 500 to 550....
what you guys think ???

lmao thats funny haha .. The sound decreases a bit when you extend the pipes and weld on the tips, reason is pretty loud because of the echo how the pipes are pointing up when you take off the muffles and the sound bounces down lol ...

@ HighhRevvG, I think you'll like the new sound it makes. There are a few folks here who have done the same thing you have with sound clips and it does make a difference. I originally went straight piping (2.5) all the way back to the mufflers (Magnaflows) but the sound was way too loud. I am also running HFCs. My current setup is still along those lines but added resonators back in to tone it down. She hums very nice now with no drone. May be changing it back up when I get back stateside and try an X pipe with the HFCs.
