AC quit on me today

I was full throttle merging onto freeway when all of sudden this loud whistling sound started to occur. It lasted for about 30 seconds and then went away. I was thinking great... I wonder what that was since that can manifest itself as a lot of things. Well on drive home I turned AC on and noticed no cold air. I must have blew some seal in the system I guess.

Looks like my Elite warranty will probably pay for itself after this one. I am taking in for a small leak on my transfer case but also for the AWD TSB for vibrations in turns. I think they replace the electric coupling in transfer case that is like $1K. I wonder with leak if they won't just replace the entire transfer case?

I still love her though!!

nah it aint that. i remember reading the manual that those white rings are supposed to get loose after you connect the ac tubings. theres more of those as well. behind the engine theres 2 more. Does the compressor plate face engage when you turn it on?

Do you happen to have a stillen gen 3 intake? I just had my ac go out a couple weeks ago and it was due to the intake pipe rubbing a hole in the metal ac line going to the condenser/radiator. I had to buy a new radiator...

Before you do have you messed around in the steering column area recently? I did and managed to disconnect the sensor and hose. Mine stopped working too and I was pissed off. Check that before you drop money on a diagnoses....

mine came apart too. I found a used clutch on ebay, installed it, found a screw I had left over from my cbr, and bam! back to working again.
but you have warranty. let them have at it!

Under warranty at around $1800 for repair.

Work order states:

"REPLACE A/C COMPRESSOR ASSY/EVACULATE AND RECHARGE TO CORRECT. (FOUND A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH DISK CAME APART.)"
And that little repair paid for your extended warranty all by itself.
