What the hell is a G25?

First one I saw I was like "oh he was just messing with his badges on the trunk, trying to be funny/different"

But over the last week I have seen two more that have "G25" on the back of the trunk.

I am not seeing things either, one I was right behind at a stop light and another I passed on the freeway.

I actually was given one as a loaner during a service visit. I thought it was a g37 with serious acceleration problems.

After I got to work, I noticed the G25 badge on the back and that explained why it felt like I was driving my wife's Rogue.

I think they stopped production last year.

Had one as a loaner the other day as well, felt gutless until you broke 3k rpm, then shifted when you hit 4k. A real turd of an engine.

I had a loaner and didn't find it that bad. I only drove it from the dealer to work and back in traffic though. From what I understood it was an attempt to have a more entry level car to compete with the is250 or BMW328 and offer an entry priced car with better fuel mileage.

I have no idea why this car was built... I can see for the MPG minded people wanting this.. but it only got 1mpg more than the standard G35/G37.... I forgot how much cheaper this is but from what I remember.. it wasn't that much cheaper when you compare the options it didn't come with....

Had the G25 loaner a few times, they are not that bad as a daily driver. They definitely lacks the punch but I felt like they drives like a "normal" car.

The mpg on the freeway cruising may be better than the V6, but otherwise, I don't see the mpg avg as a big improvement.

I felt like the IS250 has a better engine than the G25, but felt way behind on the FI 4 bangers from Europe. I would pick the IS250 over G25.

Maybe they will be a decent "first car" when they are dirt cheap in the used market

Besides the engine, I don't know what else they are different from the G37?
