I miss my G35S

After 2 months with my new car, I really miss my G35S. The torque of a NA engine (VQ35HR) was great and the sound with HFC and exhaust was great.

I now have a BMW 328i sportline, gas milage is great but it sound terrible.

The G was a great car.

I'm sorry for your loss.

What brought about the change in cars?

If I ever get a BMW after owning a G35, it would have to be at least a 335 series. If I ever got an Audi, it would have to be at least an S4.

The big decrease in power from the G35 to the 328 or A4 really turns me off from buying them.

These are the things that make me happy that I ended up with a G.

The change was because my G was 131K miles of usage. Everything was perfect with it and it was modified well. The 328i sportline feels great and mpgs are good (above 26mpg). I installed a stage1 tunning and did 13.5 at 101mph at the strip.
I miss the torque, sound (that growl) and ammenities of my G35S
I did test the Q50S before buying the BMW but still the old G moves better and feels better.
In fact I believe the best deal is to buy a G37 not Q50.

I agree w/ the G37 if I ever did that. I hope you still love the BMW after missing the G.

Oh well, that's what happens when you go over to the dark side.

I bought a C300 Benz. Great car, but slow as *****. Handles very well though, but the lack of HP makes it dull to drive.

Holding off on trading the G35x in on a G37X for as long as possible. Paid off car that runs well is hard to get rid of.

I'm not a BMW fan. Hell would need to freeze over before I bought one

The G is a great car to hang on to for the long haul. Good combo of performance and features and reliable as heck. I'm keeping mine for at least another 4 years.

Isn't the new 328 a turbo charged 4 banger? I think you just have to drive it like a turbo charged small(er) engine instead of a bigger displacement one, you have to dip into the boost when you want to harness the power.

BTW, I really don't feel like the VQ35HR has lots of low end tq. Don't get me wrong, it can get me moving from a stop light, but I don't see good power until the tach needle runs pass 3k rpm.

My next car will be a BMW. Conned both my parents into getting an X5 Diesel and a used 550i and I have been completley sold.

I miss my G35S though. That was my favorite car I had. This G37xS i bought is a big fricken boat, rides like **** and the 7AT is dimwitted and could use some SERIOUS fine tuning.

My next car will be an E90 328 6 speed sedan. I want that straight six, a manual and RWD. Even though I loved my last G, it still got horrendous gas mileage, and that is the main reason for the switch. 16mpg driving lightly does not cut it for me anymore. I rarely use the power so that is not a factor either. I want something that puts a smile on my face and doesn't need $70 worth of gas every 280miles.

I'v become that guy on the forum that hates his car. It pisses me off that it has come down to that but I cannot recommend a G anymore unless it is a 6 speed/old 5AT and RWD. AWD ruins the car.

People can hate on the new 328i and call it slow etc, but the fact of the matter is that it is just as fast as our Gs to 60. I had one as a loaner when my mothers X5 was in for service and 'experimented' with a local guy's 07 G35x one night and the cars were literally side by side and I had 3 people in the 3er... there isn't really a performance difference. The G just makes more noise and drama and gets half the gas mileage. Not worth it to me anymore.

Enjoy the 3 series. That is a phenomenal car. low 30mpgs on the freeway and mid-upper 20s in town out of a car that can hit 60 in 5.5 seconds? sign me up. Can call me a G hater all you want, but you can't deny that that is impressive...
