All warning lights on
All warning lights on
My cruise was giving me the failure message (disabled) during a 1000 mile trip, but every time I cleaned off the ICC sensor it would be fine. Not the first time it has happened, just seemed odd that I kept having to clean it - didn't seem that bad.
Went to clean it this morning and got back in the car - complete failure. All warning lights are on....ICC...low battery in the key fob....abs off....traction off...etc.
Battery is a little low in the key fob, but still happened when I put it in the dash.
Dealership said no secret, just bring it in. I'm under Infiniti warranty, but still not excited.
Known issue?

Quick google search pointed towards brake fluid, so that was the first thing I checked. Was topped off just fine, but there is some sediment at the bottom of my clutch reservoir.
Can you post a pic? Want to make sure I look for the right switch.
There is only 2 switches on the brake pedal, one is black and one is brown. Check them both to make sure that the little plunger is mashed in when brake pedal is released. The brown one is normally for the cruise. They are side by side so they are easy to check.

Actually, if I'm reading that article correctly (thanks by the way) it almost appears like it is the sensor on the transmission if not one of the other potential faults.
I suppose if it was a specific wheel sensor the code would tell you which one.
In reality - I suppose I'm just curious. I've got the factory warranty and am going to take it in on Wednesday anyway.

DTC No.
P0500
Trouble diagnosis name:
Vehicle speed sensor
DTC detecting condition:
The almost 0 km/h (0 MPH) signal from
vehicle speed sensor is sent to ECM even
when vehicle is being driven.
Possible cause:
• Harness or connectors
(The CAN communication line is open or shorted)
• Harness or connectors
(The vehicle speed signal circuit is open or
shorted)
• Wheel sensor
• Unified meter and A/C amp.
• ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)
... which gets right back to the individual wheel (speed) sensors instead of a single one on the transmission (perhaps that's a manual vs auto thing ??). Anyway, as you say though, it's not really of any consequence to you though, as the dealership will undoubtedly fix it. Please do report back and update this thread with their findings for the benefit of all who search for a P0500 code.
Some last minute thoughts:
Did you ever even get a "check engine light"? I wonder if that is just an old code that was left lodged in the diag system and has nothing to do with the current cruise control problem.
I will check tomorrow and do a database search and see if there have been any other reports of this same code. That is not a common code that we see a whole lot of. I will stay in touch with any new info.
Did they ever say whether or not the CEL code was related or not? If it was, I think it's worth noting how it's never a good idea to 'shotgun' parts called out in the error code description (i.e. speed sensor). The way cars are these days, there can often be something from clear out in left field causing the actual fault.
