How to play videos through Navi Screen?

Hey All, I have an 2007 g35x with the technology package and i have a question. How do you play movies through the screen? I bought the iphone red white yellow cable but it wouldnt work. i put the ebrake down and everything and i still couldn't get it to work. Any special ways to get it to work/ anybody with an iphone have any experience with this?

I'd make sure the video out works on a regular tv to ensure the video signal is good. Then with the e-brake engaged for manual or car in park for auto the aux screen option should show the video.

for an auto no need to be in park, just e-brake and be travelling under 3mph. have you changed the input to aux by hitting the button?

Toggle thru the aux choices for sure. If you are only getting audio from your iPhone the make sure you have the proper output setting on your iphone.

I know this isn't your question, but the resolution on the navi screen leaves a lot to be desired. You're better off staring at your phone.

Agreed, not worth the cost of the cable for the video out. I returned it after trying it for 10 seconds.

You have to be in park with ebake up. Or just get an ipad for your passenger.

This screen is a novelty that wore off around 2010 haha. It's still a nice dashboard layout.

Nope, i first bought the ipod cable from apple thats the red white yellow to lightning and it didnt work..waste of 80$ then i bought something else and now i'm just at the point of just not even caring anymore. I tried it with the car in park and the ebrake on, went through all the sources and nothing would work.

Edit

This likely is not an issue with your car but an issue with your device or cable. For instance iPhone 5 ios6 only plays thru apple tv or hdmi adapter and must be set to ntsc output, you can't play thru a simple rca splitter cord.

As i mentioned earlier the dash resolution is not good.

Copy and paste from another forum below:
If you are looking for a solution to connect iPhone 5 video to RCA (Composite) input then you may try the following instructions/prodcuts.

*

a)* Connect "Lightning to Digital AV Adaptor".* This adaptor provides HDMI output

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD...tal-av-adapter

b) Connect HDMI output to "Sabrent HDMI to Composite/S-Video Converter 3RCA DA-HDRC"

Amazon.com: Sabrent HDMI to Composite/S-Video Converter 3RCA DA-HDRC: Electronics Amazon.com: Sabrent HDMI to Composite/S-Video Converter 3RCA DA-HDRC: Electronics

c) Make sure the converter is set to NTSC and RCA output

d) Connect RCA output from Sabrent converter to your car RCA input or TV RCA input

*

Using the above setup I was able to successfully connect my iPhone 5 to my car video and watch Netflix.

*

I am sure iPad 4 and above should work just fine.*
