Maximum Tire Size

Right guys I have an 08 journey with 18" wheels. I like these wheels. What I want to know is what is the maximum tire size I can go with? I know oem size front is 225/50r18 and rear is 245/45r18. But to me it just seems like they look small in height and width. Any info?

I am running 245/45/18 front and 255/45/18 rear on factory sport wheels. I like the look and extra protection the wider tires provide.

@amgvr, any rubbing from that tire? B/c I'm wanting to go with 235/50/r18 on the front. I'm buying the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3s all around. Ordered from costco yesterday. I got 255/45r18 on the back and OEM 225/50r18 in the front bc worried about rubbing. But would the upgraded 235/50r18 rub in the front?

You could easily run 245/50X18 on the front! Never felt confident using the OE 225s on the front of any of my Nissans...Gary

Thanks for the input guys. I changed the order for the front tires to 235/50r18. The rear will be 255/45r18. All tires will be Michelin pilot sport AS 3. I've heard it's a great all season tire with excellent performance to boot.

Here's he change with the overall diameter of the tires with different sizes.

I suppose if you give it more meat / weight on the tires, there will be a slight set back in performance. And it will raise the CG a little as well?

But the added traction in the front with wider tires would be appreciated. I always felt the car can use a little more tires. i.e. the car understeer quite a bit when hard on the brakes on a down slope.

I thought 235/50/18 and 255/45/18 are weird sizes. maybe not ...
