key fob buttons stopped working

Is there a battery in the FOB? It stopped working today but still allows me to start the car but the lock/unlock and trunk button no longer works.

Does it have a battery? Really?
It's solar powered... just sit it out in the sun for a good 6 hours. Good to go...

The buttons work perfect today. Yesterday it wouldn't do anything. So I haven't changed the battery yet and one of the reasons I had asked the question was I thought the slot it holds in inside the car charged the key FOB and I didn't see where this thing comes apart. I will get the manual today and take a look but its working again.

You should still change it out before it dies at the worst possible time.

There is no reason to put the fob in that slot for everyday car use. That is only for emergencies when the FOB battery dies. It's a back up to start your car. Are you putting your FOB in that slot every day?
It should stay in your pocket.

Just to be clear, NO, that slot does not charge the fob.
