FYI - For replacement battery, try Nissan Dealer

My car came with the stock Group 35 battery, as it should have. It was not well treated but gave me 6 good years and 1 not so good.

My local Nissan dealer (Montgomeryville Nissan in PA), a really wonderful dealership that I use for all of my service, has a 20% off battery special this month.

I replaced my old dead cell with a brand new, manufactured last month (9/14), Nissan Group 24FHD, with 700 CCA and 130 minutes of reserve capacity, installed for $120.

The specs are great for the price, I didn't have to DIY (I could, but it's a pain) and I didn't have to worry about some bozo breaking something in the process.

My 06 still has the stock battery. I recently went to a drive in with my fingers crossed. It started like a champ even with my DD headunit and two amps and two subs.. I was thinking of getting a new stock battery. I'm going to see if the local Nissan dealer has the same discount. Thanks!

I'm amazed you've made it this long with the stock battery. That's like an unheard of feat ha ha.

I just went with DieHard gold for $80-90 and slapped it in myself in 5 mins.

I hate handing my keys over to someone if I don't have to.

Mild climate conditions have a lot to do with battery longevity. I got seven years out of my OEM, and I'm in norcal.
I recommend the Costco batteries as being the best bang for your buck. Very good quality, price, and an outstanding warranty.

EDIT: I just happened to be at a Costco today, and noticed that they have dropped the Kirkland (house) brand of batteries and instead they now carry the Interstate brand (which is actually the same company that made their Kirkland brand).

I paid $65 for my battery from Costco with even better CCA ratings than OEM and installed it myself.

At $120, that's still too much.

I believe the OEM size is 35 for our cars. Group 24 is for the coupe.

You found a group 35 with higher CCA for $65? wow

I would think the plates would have to be very thin to make a battery like that. I wanted the extra reserve capacity in the 24f. Both batteries cost the same, 24f is bigger with more reserve.
