Trunk stopped opening after this

So I had just opened my trunk as I have a million times before and got my bags out. When I closed the trunk I decided to hit the silver button next to the back up camera. I had no idea what it would do but after I hit that button, not matter what I do, the trunk wont open anymore. Doesnt open when I use the latch near the steering wheel, doesnt open with the key button. All that happens is a noise every time I hit the button. What did that silver button do and how can I undo it?

That is the trunk release button for when you have your I-key in your pocket. Has the car been in an accident recently by chance?

Sorry for the late reply, the car was in an accident early January, but the driver side door was hit, not the trunk area.

I have searched for 07 sedan trunk issues to no avail. I saw this thread and the comment. I am actually having the opposite problem. My 07 sedan will not lock and it was in an accident. What does that mean for the locking mechanism?

Sounds like your Lock went bad and needs to be replaced
