Changed transfer case fluid today

I think the dealer did actually change fluid 5 or so years ago. I was always skeptical. I was gonna pay for service (still under warranty) but since it took too long they gave me service for free. I am at around 94K miles and the fluid was still quite red and magnet had very little shavings on it.

The problem.... fill bolt... really hard to remove.... drain plug... I almost gave up.

Two foot breaker bar on a one foot wrench... I had to push that with my leg propped against a wall and she finally broke loose.

Gonna do a partial AT swap in the next few months.

Wow... I hate when technicians use an impact driver, they make people lazy and often times overtorque the fastener.

Are either of those really accessible enough to use an impact ? I guess an impact ratchet would fit....

Maybe Hafthor Bjornsson was working at the lube shop that day.

If you witness a tech tightening lug nuts with an impact driver it should be legal to hit them upside the head with the tire iron supplied with the car which would never be able to remove the over torqued nuts should you get a flat.
