Need advice on purchase - G35 overheating
Hey everyone, kinda in a rush since I'm going to see this car soon. I've been wanting a g35 for awhile and saw this one pop up today at a ridiculous price. Its a 2008 with a little over 100k miles on it - the guy said he'd let it go for $3,000, however, I'm obviously skeptical. The cons are it's a salvage title(not very concerned about that), he has next to no maintenance records(bad) and it's leaking coolant. He doesn't seem to speak great english either so I'm having trouble getting the full story. After texting I found that it apparently overheats after about an hour of driving(how long has he been driving it like this? Possible head gasket/engine issues now?). It starts up and runs fine according to him but will leak most of the coolant out in 1-2 hours on the drivers side near the front bumper. I know, not that much information but does anyone here have any idea what this might be? I figure if its a cooling system issue it shouldn't be crazy expensive unless the engines in bad shape. He said he's selling it because he got a new Chrysler 300 and never drives it(why didn't he trade it in?). Over all it seems sketchy but I feel like if I get a few opinions from some good mechanics and have it looked at I might get lucky. What do you guys think? Are these engines pretty tough? Ever heard of similar issues?
I really appreciate any advice/opinions, thanks.
