Important question about this G35xS

Hello, this is my first post so thank you and hope I’m doing this correctly, barely use forums except for another one but that’s for later.

Im almost certain that I’ve struck gold with this purchase I’m thinking about making for a 2008 G35xS AWD with perfect interior, everything perfect working just fine with 93k Miles for the grand total of $3,500

supposedly the seller is in dire need of the money because he needs to go visit his country once again due to personal reasons. I went to go check out the sedan because it’s going to be my second car and believe I do deserve a little bit of an upgrade? I guess... I’m only 18 and have exactly enough to purchase this vehicle and going to have to save up more for what’s wrong with this ALMOST Perfect G35

There is nothing wrong with the car besides a bit of very minor cosmetic exterior damage, besides that was scares me the most of the car is that i need to change all 6 of the Ignition coils, apparently the dude put a tune on it and decided to race another car and told me that one went bad and then the other 5 starting shooting up messages.

im more then fine and ok with buying the car with the issue it has because I know small dealers near me with a older g37 coupes and sedan for easily $10k with 70k+ miles, I need help from you guys to get me the best/cheapest ignition coils, also what are your opinion on the whole cost and my luck on almost getting this car.

The car is probably worth about 6k if running good. (That's what I'm going to pay for one in a couple weeks - same year/model/close mileage). The coil problem sounds sketchy, a tune or racing isn't going to burn up coils so figure that the problem goes deeper than what is being said. Also the coils usually last over 150k miles and I doubt more than one would fail at a time. If it has only 1 bad coil it would run bad but would run and show cylinder misfire codes. If you can't diagnose have a dealership diagnose and quote repair cost. If the car is patched up or blown up it could cost thousands if you don't know how to fix the problems yourself.

when you say “patched up / blown up” can you elaborate a bit? Are you speaking about the actual motor itself?

Your mom's boyfriend
If you look hard enough you'll find a lot of 08's under 4 grand.
Buy someone's daily driver , not a tuned race car that someone messed up.

Thank you, I’m going to see the car today and take it to a mechanic to check out the car deeper than what’s being said.

You won't find a 08' with under 100k miles for 4 grand and especially a XS model. Believe me I have looked for 6 months to find a XS at just under $6,000 and it's right at 100k miles. They are kind of a rare bird.

When I say patched up or blown up I mean that it could have some engine problems or electrical problems that someone is trying to pass on to the next owner. It's pretty common to see shady sellers do crazy stuff to make a quick buck so do your research and if you can't diagnose take it somewhere qualified to check it out good.

Scumbag is dead on, that price is sketchy af. I spent 4300 I believe on my 08 with 151k on it and it was in great condition. Can't believe that a sport model (with the rare sport bumper) and low miles is cheaper than what I paid for mines.

To the OP: RUN AWAY QUICKLY

My guess is it's got a salvage title.

I'm wanting the XS for the built in paddle shifters and sport seats. I know I probably could find them used and add them to my X but it would be cool to have a real XS. It's hard to find a deal since it's like 20:1 ratio of the car being a sport awd. I'm more likely going to find a G37XS first since there are more years available.
