Redline is actually 7900RPM?

I'll make this short and sweet.

While in manual shift mode today the car revved all the way out to 7900rpm before hitting the rev limiter. I tried to shift at reline (7500-7600rpm) in second, but I was late and it reached nearly 8Krpm before i could shift. Kind of cool and unexpected, looks like we actually have a 7900rpm redline in manual mode!

Never trust a stock tachometer, the HR motor should have a 7500 redline, at least that's what it was in the 350Z. You will usually jump 100-200 higher when on the limiter in neutral.

I'd agree except when in full auto mode it shifts right at 7600 on the tach. This clearly went higher.

Connect an ODBII scanner and an app that shows more accurate RPM readings and see what it indicates.

I might try that.

I'm the meantime can anyone else confirm? I can't be the only one.

I have an 07 G35x with I believe revision C ECM update.
