Drivers door lock issue
Drivers door lock issue
Interesting situation, I can’t lock my drivers door !!
key fob locks all doors but drivers door was the first thing I noticed
next I learned that I couldn’t manually lock the door either from the inside
last ditch effort , I broke out the key and tried to lock it; didn’t work either
the actuator seems to be working in both direction but can’t get the door into the locked position.
tearing it all apart tomorrow, any suggestion

Had it happen to me. Try something simple first like lubricating the moving parts.
Once you get your door locked you won't be able to unlock the door by the sound of your post
You have to remove the door panel to access the assembly.
Either a cable is kinked, in which case you straighten it ( my scenario) .
The cable can't release, so it stays in the open position. This is why you think it can't lock.
Or the end of the cable is not engaged , in which case you pop it back in.
Sounds like your actuator is working. Cables can't be purchased separately, as it's all part of the same assembly.
If you locked your door, and it won't open anymore, you can pop it open with a thick wire between the glass and the weatherstrip.
Unfortunately, our cars are super easy to break into once you understand the locking system.
Good luck.

It’s something internal of the actuator area, everything is enclosed in the area the striker engages. Grabbing one from the junkyard to take apart and play with. I doubt Nissan uses many different versions
everything works but I can’t lock the door. Can’t lock it with the switch, with the fob, using the key in the door or even by pulling it apart and pulling the cable
